Your home, at its real size.
Measure your rooms by counting floor tiles, place real furniture, and know what fits before the carpenter comes. Urcrib is a floor planner for homes and shops in Nigeria. It is free, runs in the browser on any phone, and needs no account to start.
Start planning · Will it fit through the door?
How it works
- Choose. Start from a layout like yours: flats, bungalows, duplexes and shops — five layouts for every kind of home.
- Measure. Count the floor tiles along each wall, and how much of the cut tile is left. No tape needed.
- Furnish. Place real furniture at its real size — every piece drawn from above at the size it is sold.
- Check. Know what will not fit: a wardrobe that cannot open, a walkway it closes, a sofa that will not get through the door.
Then see the whole home in 3D — turn it, zoom into it and look into each room — on every floor, with the stairs between them.
Will it fit through the door?
Pick a piece, measure the narrowest doorway on the way in, and say how you measured it. The check answers that it goes through, that it does not, or that it is too close to call — and which measurement to take again.
Fitting out a shop, a salon or a buka? Plan it the same way.
Shops and pharmacies, supermarkets, salons and barbershops, restaurants and bukas, offices, and tailors — each with layouts to start from, their own fittings, and checks for aisles, counters and the room behind every chair.
Scanned it with a LiDAR app? Bringing it in comes soon.
Opening a LiDAR scan in Urcrib is not built yet. When it is, a DXF or IFC file from an app such as OpenPlan3D Capture, Lagarsoft LiDAR Scanner, RoomScan Pro, magicplan or Polycam will become your plan — walls, doors and windows where the scan found them — read on your phone and never uploaded, and recorded as a vector plan, good to about ±25 mm. Today a room is measured by counting tiles, with a tape, or by pacing.

Every length says how it was measured.
A tape measure is good to ±30 mm, a tile count to ±5%, pacing to ±10%, and a typical size to ±15%. The plan records which you used, and when a piece is close to the edge it asks you to measure again before you buy.
Questions
- Do I need a tape measure?
- No. Count the floor tiles, or describe the room as you walk it in steps. A tape makes the plan surer, and the plan says how sure every size is either way.
- My home is not like any of the layouts. Can I still plan it?
- Yes. Start from one room — the one your front door opens into — then add the others one at a time, drag each to where it is, and give it its doors and windows. A room that is not a rectangle is described by walking its walls. Every size is a guess until you measure it, and says so.
- Is it free?
- Yes: any home or shop, the whole catalogue and exports, with no account.
- How does Pro work with more than one plan?
- Each plan is unlocked once, for ₦0. The monthly fee is not per plan: ₦0 covers editing all of them. Stop it and nothing is lost — every plan can still be opened, shared and exported, and editing comes back when you pay again.
- Does it work on Android?
- Yes. Urcrib runs in the browser on any phone, and can be installed to your home screen. It works offline once opened.
- Where are my plans kept?
- On your phone, in the browser you planned in, and nowhere else: clear your browsing data or change phones and they are gone. Accounts, which keep a plan on any phone, open soon. Nobody sees your plans, and they are never used to train anything.
- Can I plan a shop, a salon or an office?
- Yes — shops, supermarkets, salons, restaurants, offices and tailors, each with layouts to start from, their own fittings, and checks for aisles, counters and chairs.
- What does “unverified” mean on a piece?
- Its size is the size it is usually sold at, not yet checked against a real piece by a named reviewer. Confirm the size with the seller before you buy.
- Can I bring in a scan from a LiDAR app?
- Not yet. Opening a DXF or IFC file from an app like OpenPlan3D Capture or RoomScan Pro is not built yet. When it is, the file will be read on your phone and never uploaded. Today a room is measured by counting floor tiles, with a tape, or by describing it as you walk it.
- Can I open my plan in another 3D tool?
- Yes. It is a Pro feature, open to everybody during the preview. In the 3D view, Save 3D model saves the whole building — every floor, wall, door and piece — as a glTF (.glb) or OBJ (.obj) file. It opens in Blender, SketchUp, Unity, Unreal, 3ds Max and the 3D viewer on most computers, in metres, with every room and piece named. Save picture keeps the view as you turned it. The model is one to work from, not a survey: wall thickness is drawn, not measured.
- Can a carpenter or seller see my plan?
- Today, by sending them the plan as an image or a PDF, which you make in the planner. Sharing a plan for them to open, comment on or edit needs accounts, which open soon.
From the blog
- What Pro unlocks, when accounts open — One unlock for a plan, a monthly fee that keeps every unlocked plan editable, and what stays free in the preview.
- Measuring with a LiDAR app — If your phone has LiDAR, a free app can scan a room in a minute. How to scan and export it, ready for when Urcrib can open the file.
- How to measure a room by counting floor tiles — No tape measure? The floor has one built in. Count the whole tiles, then say how much of the cut one is left.
- Will it fit through the door? The numbers that decide — A wardrobe that fits the bedroom can still stop at the front door. Here is what the delivery check measures, and why.
- Planning a shop, a salon or a buka — Aisles, tills, styling chairs and wash basins each need standing room. The planner checks it.
- Where to put a generator, and why the distance matters — Outside is not enough. Exhaust comes back in through doors and windows — so the planner measures how far.
- Why every size in Urcrib says how sure it is — A plan that hides its doubt is a plan you cannot buy from. Ours shows it on every number.
