Why every size in Urcrib says how sure it is

A plan that hides its doubt is a plan you cannot buy from. Ours shows it on every number.

The same 4 metre wall measured four ways, from ±0.03 m with a tape to ±0.60 m as a typical size.

Every length in Urcrib carries two things: the number, and how it was measured. From how it was measured comes how sure it is.

  • Tape measure — ±30 mm
  • Counted in tiles — ±5%
  • Paced in steps — ±10%
  • A typical size, nobody measured it — ±15%
  • The size a piece is sold as — ±3%

4.00 m, four ways — the bar is how far either side the truth may be

Why it matters

When a wardrobe has 5 cm to spare against a wall you counted in tiles, the honest answer is not "it fits". It is "it probably fits — check that wall with a tape". Urcrib says exactly that, and only when it matters.

No number in the plan is ever a guess dressed as a measurement.

Try it on your own home — no account needed.
